Wood fuel is an environmentally friendly alternative to fossil fuels such as oil, gas or coal.

It is 'Carbon Neutral', which means that although burning wood releases the greenhouse gas carbon dioxide, the same amount is absorbed by trees from the atmosphere as they grow. Therefore, unlike fossil fuels, it does not contribute to global warming.

Wood Fuel is exempt from the climate change levy.

As well as being a 'green' fuel, wood chip fuel is cost effective. When replacing oil and LPG, savings of 50% or more can be achieved. Wood chip fuel is significantly cheaper than mains gas (traditionally the cheapest fuel available).

Consider the this, to store 10MW of energy you would need:

• 966 litres of oil
• 2 tonnes of Wood Pellets (just under 2m³)
• 2.86 tonnes of Woodfuel Chip at 30% (just under 12m³)
